Pro Tips

ALWAYS PROCESS AIR THROUGH THE DRYER AT THE LOWEST POSSIBLE TEMPERATURE AND THE HIGHEST PRACTICAL PRESSURE.

Here is the best scenario for a Super-Dry:

  •  There is an aftercooler or a refrigeration dryer in the compressor room
  • The Super-Dry can be installed at the point of use
  • The application has intermittent flow

Here are scenarios where Super-Dry is NOT the best solution:

  • The air dryer must be installed in the compressor room
  • The customer needs to obtain a -40°F dew point
  • The application is continuous flow
Always install the Air Dryer as close as possible to the point-of-use, at least 20 feets from the compressor.

Locate the Air Dryer at the lowest possible temperature to prevent condensation caused by downstream variations of temperature.

Compressed air must flow trough the Air Dryer at the highest practical pressure.  The higher the pressure, the easier the compressed can be dried.  Install pressure regulators downstream of the air dryer when possible.

When the Air Dryer is installed close to the compressor (within 20 feets) an after cooler is required.

The inlet port of the Air Dryer must be equal or bigger than the size of your air line.  If the diameter of the air line is bigger than the inlet ports, you will create restriction.

If there is a presence of bulk liquids in the compressed air, filtering the water with a separator is recommended.

Compressed air that is exempt from solid particles such as pipe scale and oil-carry over will be easier to dry.  Adequate compressed air filtration is recommended.

Use aluminium, steel or copper piping.  Stay away from plastic or rubber hose.  The later will not provide proper heat exchange.  Rubber hose will absorb moisture and keep your compressed air wet.

Implement compressed air best practices such as draining your compressor tank, eliminate air leaks, perform regular maintenance, etc..  Download our white paper to learn more.
